Juniors & Seniors

Welcome, High School Juniors and Seniors!

Thanks for checking out the College of Engineering at Michigan State University! We know that choosing a university and a major is an important decision. With all of the opportunities available here, we hope you'll find that Engineering at MSU is the right fit for you! Our goal is to provide you with all of the information you need to make an educated decision about your future. If you have any other questions after browsing our site, feel free to contact us!

Experience a Day at State!

The Day at State program gives high school juniors and seniors the opportunity to experience life at Michigan State University for a day or overnight visit. These visits, hosted by currently enrolled students, often include attending classes, eating in the residence halls, visiting the bookstore, attending student group meetings, and seeing a residence hall room. Students on overnight visits spend the night in their student host’s residence hall room.

Professors in the Classroom!

Every engineering faculty member participates in undergraduate teaching - this means you won't typically see teaching assistants at the front of the class!

Get a job after you graduate!

You have a chance to meet with more than 100 firms at our annual employment fair - but first, get some advice and help with your resumé from the career consultant housed in the engineering building. All that hard work will pay off!

Get some research experience!

As a top undergraduate student, you could have the opportunity to gain research experience with a professor through the Honors College or a Summer Research Program. You might even get your own lab coat!

Resources for You!

The Guided Learning Center offer tutoring, advising, peer mentorship, and networking opportunities. Meet cool new people while you get help with classes!

We can't wait for you to join us!

When you decide that MSU Engineering is the right choice for you, you can find out about admission requirements and get started with the MSU online application process through the Office of Admissions and Scholarships. If you have concerns about funding your education, you can get help through the Office of Financial Aid.

Once you are admitted to MSU, you do not need to choose a major until your junior year. If you know you want to be in the College of Engineering, you can apply for early admission during your freshman or sophomore year. (Learn more about our Admit When Ready Program.) You will need a 2.8 GPA or higher to be accepted to engineering.
