Terence Brown
Assistant Professor
Research Biography

Dr. Brown's current research program involves the design of heterostructures for advanced in vivo devices and sensors, using biocompatible semiconductor materials such as the III-nitrides. The primary focus is the development of novel devices for in vivo energy conversion. In vivo energy conversion is the capture of biothermal, biochemical, and bioelectric potentials for use as power sources for implantable systems. Devices capable of biochemical energy conversion from multiple sources into optical power for delivery throughout the human body via optical fiber could provide a platform for novel bioelectronic systems.
