Contracts and Grants Grants.Gov Frequently Asked Questions
Helpful Hints for Grants.Gov Proposal Submissions:
1. Grants.gov application packages must be downloaded using PureEdge Viewer software; it's free, but you must have the software installed on your computer. [Eventually grants.gov will be switching over to Adobe. ]
2. Grants.gov is not an on-line system - as you fill in various aspects of the application package, it must be emailed to your colleagues (and eventually CGA). Be careful to keep draft versions distinguished.
3. Due to required verification times by both grants.gov and the prime agency, proposals must be submitted to Contracts and Grants for their release at least 4 days prior to the deadline. In addition some MSU colleges require 24 to 48 hours to review proposals and budgets. Please plan AHEAD!
4. Transmittals will still need to be signed prior to CGA releasing the proposal. Proposals are reviewed and released on a first-come, first-serve basis by CGA.
