True to our mission, the Engineering Undergraduate Studies Office strives to connect students to resources while assisting them in clarifying educational, career, and life goals. Through these efforts we aspire to enhance the educational experience of students.
Extracurricular Activities
Engineering students have a plethora of student groups with which to participate. Most every field of study in engineering has a related group at MSU which regularly holds meetings, seminars, brings in guest lectures and has many other activities. There are many different engineering student organizations. Get involved with one or more and you can gain invaluable experience with hands-on projects, working in teams, organizational management and governance structures.
MentorNet
The E-Mentoring Network for Diversity in Engineering and Science. MentorNet is the award-winning nonprofit e-mentoring network that addresses the retention and success of those in engineering, science and mathematics, particularly but not exclusively women and other underrepresented groups. MentorNet provides highly motivated proteges from many of the world's top colleges and universities with positive, one-on-one, email-based mentoring relationships with mentors from industry and academics. In addition, the MentorNet Community provides opportunities to connect with others from around the world who are interested in diversifying engineering and science. Scholarships and Research Opportunities
The MSU College of Engineering offers more than 300 scholarships to undergraduate students each year for a total of approximately $500,000 in amounts ranging from $100 to $13,000. There are separate selection processes for obtaining scholarships for incoming freshmen and current engineering students. Learn more...
Science Theatre
Science Theatre is an outreach organization run by Michigan State University student volunteers. We bring entertaining science demonstrations to the general public to spark their interest in science. Our performances demonstrate basic scientific concepts and inspire audience members to develop an appreciation for science in their everyday lives.
